Queensland police pulled over a driver after reports from other motorists that someone was trapped in the boot of the car, with a leg seen hanging from the back.

The incident on April 26 at Slacks Creek, a southern suburb of Brisbane, turned out to be a dummy run when police discovered the leg sticking out from the boot belonged to a mannequin.

Body-worn camera footage shows Queensland Police following a maroon sedan as it turns a corner with the leg – wearing a sock – half-way out of the boot.

‘It’s just a mannequin,’ an officer can be heard to say as he takes a phone shot of the no longer disturbing sight.

The 37-year-old Borona Heights man didn’t, however, make complete fools of the police.

His car was found to have three bald tyres, missing wheel nuts and the number plate obstructed by cables, resulting in $900 worth of infringement notices.
