Desperate search for missing 12-year-old girl who went out for a walk and didn’t return home – as police release images of her texting on the pavement

  • Lauren Rafferty, 12, went missing overnight in southern New South Wales 
  • She was last seen on May 9 in Scherger Place, Mount Austin in Wagga Wagga
  • Young girl described as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build, 155cm tall 

A search is underway for a young girl who went missing overnight in southern New South Wales

Lauren Rafferty, 12, was last seen on Sunday May 9 at 1.30pm in Scherger Place, Mount Austin in Wagga Wagga. 

Police have launched an investigation into her disappearance after her family raised the alarm when she failed to return home.

Lauren is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 155cm tall, thin build with brown shoulder-length hair. 

She was last seen wearing a black jumper, blue jeans and black shoes and reportedly texting while walking along the pavement. 

NSW Police has described her disappearance as ‘out of character’ and her family have concerns for her welfare.
