Skye Wheatley shows off impressive bathroom transformation

They began renovating their $1million Gold Coast mansion in November 2019.

And on Tuesday, former Big Brother star Skye Wheatley and her partner Lachlan Waugh showed off the results of their incredible bathroom transformation, following months of ‘blood, sweat and tears’.

The duo – who are currently expecting their second child together – shared before and after snaps on their new home renovation Instagram account, showing their formerly uninviting room transformed into a luxurious haven.

All change! On Tuesday, pregnant Big Brother star Skye Wheatley and her partner Lachlan Waugh showed off the results of their incredible bathroom transformation

To enter the room, the pair built a gorgeous archway from scratch and added a statement semi-circle mirror which takes up almost an entire wall.

The bathroom also now features a beautiful stand-alone bath, with a large window to look outside into the wilderness during a relaxation session.

The drab ‘his and hers’ sinks have been replaced by a gorgeous marble white cabinet, with four mahogany drawers placed underneath.

‘Blood, sweat and tears went into this before and after…quite literally,’ Skye wrote alongside a picture of the room. ‘I have a scar on my leg from when I was jack hammering the old tiles and one broke off, flew down and sliced my thigh.

‘Lachy has been wearing his Reno scent lately too, pure sweat!’ she added.

The pair purchased the derelict estate for $975,000 in August 2019, and have been working hard to restore the impressive Spanish Colonial style home to fit their growing family.

They’ve already transformed the pool area, and now appear to be focusing more on the home’s interior.

The stunning two-story property features a tree-lined driveway leading to the main terrace area with beautiful garden views, and a huge swimming pool.

Inside, the house includes a warm lounge area with original fireplace, a bar, a huge kitchen and a massive basement – which Skye says she’ll use as a ‘filming room’.

There are four bedrooms, four bathrooms and parking spots for four cars.

In a previous video blog, Skye told the story about how the ‘abandoned’ mansion came to be, saying: ‘Noone has lived here for six years.

‘The owner was a Chinese man, and him and his wife wanted to send their children to a nearby school, and they were going to live there but… it never ended up happening.’

Skye continued: ‘They had this house just sitting there for six years, and now they want to sell it. We were just in the right place at the right time.

‘We’re so f**king lucky to have got the house, as so many people wanted it. It’s crazy when you know the power of the universe.’
