Clever supermarket hacks are saving savvy shoppers hundreds of dollars on meat, picking up choice cuts pack for as little as $5.40.

A shopper named Hails shared the money-saving trick with other bargain hunters, explaining that ‘lamb bone’ packs actually contain plenty of meat.

‘Bought these lamb ”bones” today for $7 a kilo….it’s mostly loin chops!’ she wrote along with photos of two packets of lamb chops.

‘Sure they are a little uneven but it’s way better than $40/kg! Two meals of yummy chops for my family for about $12!’

The packs were selling for $5.80 for 829g – easily enough to feed a whole family for dinner.

The same could be done with Woolworth’s meat labelled as lamb offcuts, which were also $7 a kilogram – some just $5.40 a pack.

Shoppers commented on Hail’s post thanking her for the bargaining tip and said they will be doing that next time.

‘I’m certainly going to be checking regularly!’ one posted.

‘Not much wrong with that at $7 kg. I will have to check these out more often,’ another commented.

‘I grab these when I see them at my local Woolies or Coles,’ someone else wrote.
