A Sydney man has hilariously asked a Lotto worker to marry him after finding out he won a $2million jackpot.

The man, in his 30s and from Campbelltown, had one of ten winning entries in the Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw, which was drawn on Saturday.

He didn’t claim his prize on Saturday or Sunday, prompting a Lotto worker to call him on Monday morning and inform him he was now a millionaire – much to his surprise.

‘Bulls**t! Who is this? You’ve got to be kidding me! I’m serious, you had better not be messing with me,’ the man said.

‘I’ve had the worst morning too and if I find out you’re messing with me, I’ll be so p*ssed. I wasn’t even going to answer your phone call, so this had better be real!’

The winner then checked The Lott app to see if it was true.

‘No way! It is real! I’ve won two million dollars! ‘Oh my f***ing god! I love you! Do you want to marry me?’ he said.

‘I can’t believe it. It’s such good timing you have no idea. I’ve just had the busiest and worst morning. This has really turned it around! I can’t even think properly. Oh my god! It’s the best day ever! My heart is pumping!’

He explained he plays the same numbers every Saturday, which he picked years ago using birthdays and anniversaries.

He said he actually checked the numbers but somehow didn’t realise he’d won $2million.

‘I even checked the numbers and saw that a few of them were my favourite numbers, but I figured I’d just won $12 or something. I had no idea I had won $2million!’ he said.

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, the delighted winner said the first thing he would do was clock off work.

‘There is no way I am going to be able to concentrate today, so I’m going to go home from work,’ he said.

‘I’ll be going on holiday as soon as the borders open. The rest will go into the bank, and I’ll have to think about how to spend it.’
