‘It’s been a weird time’: Edwina Bartholomew reveals the REAL reason she’s excited to return to Sunrise six months after welcoming baby Molly

Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew will return to the Channel Seven breakfast show on Monday morning, just six months after welcoming daughter Molly.

The 36-year-old has revealed she’s excited to be back on television screens so she can ‘contribute to telling breaking news stories’ to Australians every day.

‘It’s been a weird time being an observer and sitting on the couch,’ the journalist and television presenter told News Corp Australia on Sunday.

Edwina continued: ‘It was particularly hard during the bushfires, to think I couldn’t contribute to telling those stories.’

However, she said that she’s thankful to have been self-isolating at home with baby Molly on maternity leave throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

‘The timing in that respect has been great,’ added Edwina.

Last week, the Sunrise presenter shared a sweet Instagram post of daughter Molly befriending a picture of another baby on a packet of nappies.

Her baby gazed lovingly at the photo, clearly feeling she had made a new pal.

Earlier this year, the journalist reflected on how motherhood had strengthened her marriage to husband Neil Varcoe.

‘Neil has been so amazing,’ Edwina told The Herald Sun at the time.

‘They say you fall in love with your husband again after you have a baby. And that was definitely the case for me,’ she cooed.

Coleen Rooney ‘tipped for Dancing on Ice while rival Rebekah Vardy eyed up for Loose Women’

Coleen Rooney ‘is tipped to appear on Dancing on Ice while rival Rebekah Vardy is eyed up for a permanent role on Loose Women’

Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy are both being lined up for major TV roles, according to reports.

The warring WAGs may be set for on screen comebacks with ITV executives hoping that they will draw huge ratings after their recent rift.

Coleen, 34, has been offered a big money deal to take part in Dancing On Ice after bosses were criticised for only securing low-rent celebrities to join the cast, according to The Sun.

Development: Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy are both being lined up for major TV roles, according to reports

It is also thought that rival Rebekah Vardy, 38, could soon become a regular panelist on daytime show Loose Women.

An industry source told the newspaper: ‘Both women have been absent from TV screens for over a year and there is a lot of interest in their comeback.

‘Dancing on Ice bookers have made it clear Coleen is number one on their list as they think she’ll bring star quality to their line-up and interest from football fans…

‘Loose Women producers already have a great track record with Becky and really love how opinionated she is, plus, as a mother, she is relatable to viewers.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for comment.

It comes following an update in the war of words between Coleen and Rebekah, as it was reported earlier this month that a summit to heal their rift has reached a deadlock.

In October, Coleen admitted that stories about her basement flooding, returning to TV and gender selection were only viewed by Rebekah and these were subsequently followed by media outlets, including MailOnline.

The statement: In October, Coleen publicly accused Rebekah in an explosive statement of selling fake stories about her, sparking an angry denial from the then-pregnant WAG

Rebekah, who denies all allegations, cut her family holiday to Dubai short after Coleen’s dramatic accusation, which captured Britain in the so-called ‘war of the WAGs’ and earned Coleen the nickname of ‘Wagatha Christie’ by fans.

At the time, sources close to Rebekah said leading law firm, Kingsley Napley, had sent Coleen a letter on her behalf demanding she provides them with the evidence she has against Becky so that she can complete her investigation.

Becky is said to have called in a forensic team to analyse her Instagram account following the explosive claims. The aim is to identify the mole who sold fake stories to The Sun from Coleen’s Instagram account.

The pair have held a video meeting earlier this month in a last-ditch attempt to avoid a very public and expensive court hearing.

But it’s now been revealed the pair failed to reach a resolution, meaning their dispute could go to the High Court.

A source has said: ‘The girls are still no further forward, so it’s now going to have to be heard in court.

‘It’s a shame it has come to this but there is no other way. Coleen has plenty of evidence and she isn’t frightened to show it.’

MailOnline contacted Rebekah and Coleen’s representative for comment at the time.

The women also held an online Alternative Dispute Resolution mediation meeting earlier this month alongside their lawyers after it was claimed Becky, wife of Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy, threatened to sue Coleen for libel.

Coleen whose husband Wayne is player-coach at Derby County, is thought to be countersuing for breach of privacy.

TALK OF THE TOWN: Family who helped find tomb of Tutankhamun snubbed by £1 billion gala

TALK OF THE TOWN: The family who helped find the tomb of Tutankhamun are snubbed by £1 billion gala on the boy king

A £1bn museum to commemorate the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, whose mask is pictured, will not include the family of the man who made it all possible

The grand opening of a spectacular £1 billion museum to commemorate the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun will have one thing missing: the family of the man who made it all possible.

Notably absent from the current guest list of the three-day gala in Cairo next year will be Lord and Lady Carnarvon. Lord Carnarvon’s great-grandfather famously funded the expedition, led by archaeologist Howard Carter, which discovered the Pharaoh’s intact tomb.

He became one of the first people to witness the treasures inside the burial chamber in more than 3,000 years.

But astonishingly, Lord and Lady Carnarvon say they know nothing about the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, close to the Pyramids of Giza.

It will house the mummified body of the boy king, which will be taken from his tomb in Luxor and reunited with his iconic golden death mask for the first time since the discovery in 1922.

Lady Carnarvon, who lives at Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey, calls the snub a ‘great shame’, saying: ‘I have a lot of historic material I would like to share.

‘Egypt is in my husband’s DNA and mine by association. I don’t know anything about a party or what’s going on because they haven’t reached out to us at all. It’s a great shame because the museum will be amazing and we would like to be there. I have fantastic photographs I have found from that era.’

In 1922, the 5th Earl of Carnarvon was present when Carter first peeped into the tomb. After Lord Carnarvon asked him what he could see, Carter famously replied: ‘Wonderful things.’

The first stone of the museum was laid way back in 2002 but the project has been beset by delays.

A spokesman for the museum was unavailable for comment.

Princess Anne’s decision to work from her Gatcombe Park home means delighted locals in the Cotswolds are finally enjoying some peace.

One neighbour tells me: ‘There used to an awful racket from her helicopter coming in and out all the time. Now it’s serenity.’

And when Anne does start flying again, how will she maintain social distancing within the aircraft?

Brad Pitt threw a pizza party for daughter Shiloh’s birthday which saw him reunite with ALL his kids

Brad Pitt ‘threw a grand pizza party for daughter Shiloh’s 14th birthday’ which saw the Oscar winner reunite with ALL his kids – even estranged son Maddox

It seems Brad Pitt‘s domestic life has taken a turn for the better, and just in time for his daughter Shiloh’s 14th birthday.

The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star reportedly threw a lavish birthday party for his daughter Shiloh on Wednesday, according to The Sun.

The fete, to mark Shiloh’s 14th trip around the sun, was attended by all of her siblings, which included her eldest brother Maddox, 18 – who had up until recently been estranged from his father.

‘Brad really wanted to make Shiloh’s day special and had been planning it for a while, he can’t believe how grown up she is,’ a source told The Sun.

‘He has an expensive pizza oven at his house and made her favorite dish for the party, while also celebrating with a cake.’

The insider also said Shiloh’s siblings, 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, Zahara, 15, Pax, 16, and Maddox, were all in attendance at the 56-year-old Oscar winner’s Los Feliz, California home.

‘Shiloh’s birthday really brought them all together, and she had plenty of presents to open on the day,’ the source continued.

‘One of Brad’s film editor pals put together a video of messages from her family and friends all over the world, some of whom she hadn’t seen in a while due to the pandemic.

‘Shiloh is really into photography and Brad also bought her a vintage Polaroid camera and created a book of all her best photographs from the past few years,’ the insider added.

And to top it all off, Pitt also surprised Shiloh with a studio session with a guitarist for lessons on how to play.

Brad’s children have been spending the majority of their time during the pandemic with their mom Angelina, 44, whose $25million home is mere minutes from Brad’s mansion.

It all stemmed from an allegedly heated fight on a private jet that year, which resulted in Angelina and Brad calling it quits and Maddox not speaking to his father for an extended period.

But more recently, sources claim the exes have been ‘getting on better’ since agreeing on a custody schedule for their children.

‘Brad’s kids are the most important thing to him. He tells his friends he learns so much about life from his own children,’ a source told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday.

‘He and Angie have been getting along so much better since the custody rules have been worked out. They have come so far.’

TALK OF THE TOWN: Kelly Hoppen says she ‘loves the smell of Dettol’ and admits she has no idea how to use a washing machine

What is lockdown doing to Kelly Hoppen? The interior designer has revealed that she has become hooked on the smell of her cleaning supplies – and has no idea how to use a washing machine.

She says: ‘I love the smell of Dettol. I have become obsessed with washing floors. I should do an l’eau de Dettol now rather than my Scent One.’

Doing her laundry, however, is another matter – Kelly and husband John Gardiner had to go online before using their washing machine.

If you thought you were climbing the walls during lockdown, take a look at Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s son Ray.

Murder On The Dancefloor singer Sophie has been hosting online ‘kitchen discos’ with her family to cheer up fans, but while her followers have enjoyed eight-year-old Ray’s dance moves, it seems he’s had enough.

Last week he donned a Spider-Man costume and a pantomime horse’s head disguise as he appeared to make a break for it in this picture, shared online by his mum.
