‘I used to buy whatever I wanted, when I wanted it’: Instagram model Tammy Hembrow, 25, gives financial advice to fans amid the COVID-19 pandemic – and reveals her money saving hack

Tammy Hembrow has built a fitness empire off the back of her raunchy selfies.

And as many Australians struggle with unemployment amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the 25-year-old has offered financial advice to fans in a new YouTube video.

When asked for tips on saving, Tammy recommended both hiring a financial advisor and opening up a seperate bank account, but limiting your access to it.

‘This is a tip, have a different account at a whole different bank [to your day-to-day one],’ Tammy began, speaking of her own experience of saving.

‘When I open my banking app, [my savings] are not there and it’s in a whole different bank – because if I see it, I’d be like, “I have so much money” and want to spend it.’

Tammy older sister, and business partner, Amy added: ‘Don’t have a card attached to these bank accounts and just pretend [your savings] isn’t there.’

Tammy went on to discuss her own struggles with saving in the video.  

‘I used to be really bad at saving. I’d buy whatever I wanted, when I wanted it. Which is really bad thing to do,’ she explained.

‘Right now I have a financial advisor and he told me to start investing, stop going crazy and save for the future. Get a financial advisor if you can.’
