The Apprentice EXCLUSIVE: Dean Ahmad slams Lottie Lion for being on the show ‘for other reasons’

Dean Ahmad was the latest casualty of Lord Sugar’s boardroom on Wednesday’s episode of The Apprentice.

The sports management agency owner, 20, missed out on the final five after he, Pamela Laird and Lewis Ellis failed to impress in the perfume-making task.

Speaking to MailOnline after his firing, Dean gave his views on the final five candidates, who will present their business plans to Lord Sugar’s advisers next week. And librarian Lottie Lion, 20, hasn’t impressed the sacked candidate.

Dean said he’s earned lasting friendships from his time on the show, calling last week’s fired candidate Thomas Skinner ‘a big brother’. Of the final five, Pamela, Lewis, Lottie, Scarlett Allen-Horton and Carina Lepore, Dean declared:

‘You’ve got four out of five serious business candidates left. Scarlett has always stood out for me, she’s very sharp and on the ball with things. Pamela is the silent assassin. I wouldn’t rule her out, never rule out an underdog.’

Lottie, who has had countless arguments with her colleagues on the show, came under fire from Dean, as he told MailOnline she was ‘a bit of a nightmare’.

He said of Lottie: 'I think the viewers can make their own judgement on her. You've got four out of five candidates with business acumen but I think it's quite obvious that some people are on the show for other reasons potentially'

He added that despite him and Lottie being the same age, he thinks he has far more experience and potential, explaining:

‘I’ve been in business since I was 15 so I’ve got plenty of experience and some very high profile clients so I’m sure Lord Sugar’s aware of that,’ adding of Lottie: ‘People can make their own minds up but being eloquent is one thing, having business acumen is another.’

Dean received a rare positive farewell from Lord Sugar in his final boardroom, as the business mogul told him to ‘keep him in touch’.

‘I’d like to think he sees potential in me. I’ve been in business since a very young age similar to him so who knows what the future might hold for us,’ Dean said of his inspiration.

‘I run a sports management company. Lord Sugar loves his sport!’ he pointed out, adding that he hoped to eventually go down the sports presenting route.

Dean said that he learned a lot about himself from the show, and was just sorry he lost some of his confidence among the big characters and tough challenges.

‘I walked into that process thinking “I’m super super confident, I’m never going to get nervous” but when you’re in there pitching and things, I’ve certainly learned a few things about myself.’

The Apprentice returns next Wednesday at 9PM on BBC One.
