Today show co-star announces she’s PREGNANT live on air

Karl Stefanovic was left completely shocked on the Today show on Wednesday, as one of his co-stars announced she’s having a baby. 

The 45-year-old was left flabbergasted when reporter Jess Millward rubbed her belly and revealed she’s pregnant, while crossing live from a theme park on the Gold Coast. 

Jess, who married husband Joel Dry in February 2018, said that she wanted to go on a ride but couldn’t because she’s expecting.   

‘I’m a thrill seeker from way back, a real bada** if you can say that on TV,’ Jess began. 

‘I was all ready to go on the rides yesterday, super excited, cameraman ready to go, and then I remembered I have a certain condition at the moment, so I can’t really,’ she said, referring to her pregnancy.

Karl then asked her about her condition, saying he had no idea. 

‘What’s your condition?! I don’t know about that,’ he said.

His co-host Allison Langdon chimed in and said that he does indeed know, and that it’s a ‘good condition.’   

Jess, 29, then said she’s banned from going on rides for the ‘next five months.’   

‘She’s having a baby!’ Allison announced. 

Karl then said he was shocked but congratulated Jess.  

‘Congratulations Jess, oh my goodness!’ 

Allison then joked that Karl has been ‘under a rock’ the past few weeks. 

He replied: ‘I had a bit of time off, not under a rock… that is fantastic… no wonder she can’t go on that ride!’

Jess and husband Joel Dry, who is also a reporter for Today, tied the knot in February 2018 in South Australia’s wine region of Langhome Creek.

It’s been a busy few months for Karl, who welcomed newborn daughter Harper in May with wife Jasmine Yarbrough. 

He took a week off work and returned on May 11, saying he was ‘struggling a bit’ having gone back so soon. 

‘Emotionally? Physically?’ questioned Ally in response, with Karl chuckling as he admitted: ‘Everything hurts. I’m tired. Emotional.’
