BREAKING NEWS: Top Republican writes to Treasury Secretary demanding information about Biden family’s suspicious business deals and asks Twitter executives to testify next month on suppression of the Hunter laptop story
Rep. James Comer hit the ground running as chair of the powerful Oversight committee with letters Wednesday morning pressing the Treasury and Twitter for information regarding the Biden family’s business deals.
Comer, R-Ky., wrote one letter to Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen pressing her on the Biden family’s ‘suspicious business transactions.’
Comer requested to see the Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) that were flagged by U.S. banks regarding the financial activity of Hunter Biden, President Biden’s brother James and other Biden family associates.

Comer’s committee is probing the president’s knowledge and role in the financial activity and ‘whether he has compromised our national security.’
Last Congress Republicans – then in the minority – requested the SARs from the Treasury, which informed staff it would only provide the documents if they were requested by committee chairs.
Comer also sent letters to former Twitter executives Vijaya Gadde, who served as chief legal officer, Yoel Roth former global head of trust & safety and James Baker, former general counsel, telling them their testimony was requested at a February 6 hearing.
‘Your attendance is necessary because of your role in suppressing Americans’ access to information about the Biden family on Twitter shortly before the 2020 election,’ Comer wrote.
‘For years, the Biden family peddled influence and access around the world for profit, often at the expense of our nation’s interests. The American people must know the extent of Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s shady business deals and if these deals threaten national security and his decision-making as president,’ the congressman told DailyMail.com in a statement.
Comer claimed on ‘Meet the Press’ on Sunday that his investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop is not ‘political’ and focuses on the president himself and his involvement.
‘There are emails and text messages that show Hunter Biden complaining about having to spend so much money keeping his dad up. I mean, that’s a concern because Hunter Biden’s only source of income was from our adversaries in China and Russia for influence peddling,’ Comer said.
‘So this is something that we should look into. This isn’t political. We want to know, was the president truthful when he said he didn’t have any knowledge or involvement of his family’s shady business dealings? Once we’ve determined that, we’ll move on,’ he added.
Last month with the takeover of Elon Musk came the ‘Twitter Files’ which revealed how a group of top executives at Twitter came to the decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story first reported by the New York Post.
Comer’s letters follow Tuesday when the Oversight Committee launched a pair of investigations into President Biden’s handling of classified files that were found at his think tank office just before the midterms.
The White House confirmed on Monday evening that Biden’s personal attorneys found ‘a small number of documents with classified markings’ when clearing out the president’s old office in the Penn Biden Center on November 2, 2022.
Comer sent letters to the White House Counsel’s Office and the National Archives and Records Administration, respectively, looking for more information into the matter.
