Tottenham striker Troy Parrott to cut loan spell at Millwall short to join Ipswich Town for remainder of the season as Irishman searches for regular first-team minutes

  • Tottenham want the striker to get regular minutes in the Championship
  • Parrott managed 14 appearances for the Lions but has fallen out of favour

Tottenham have recalled Troy Parrott from his loan spell at Millwall and will send him to Ipswich Town for the remainder of the season due to a lack of game time at the Den.

The Irish forward was sent south of the River Thames by Spurs last summer in the hope he’d get valuable minutes in the Championship but an ankle injury derailed his chances at Millwall from the get go.

The 18-year-old managed 14 appearances across all competitions for the Lions but fell out of favour in recent weeks and has been left on the bench.

He is now expected to complete a six-month loan move to Ipswich instead in the hope he will get the experience Spurs are hopeful for.

Parrott has made one start and three substitute appearances for Spurs and is yet to score a senior goal although he is highly-rated by the Premier League side.

Ipswich are keen to bring in a striker before the window slams shut after Oli Hawkins picked up a knee injury while James Norwood continues to struggle with a hamstring issue.
