A popular ice cream has been recalled from supermarkets over fears of a chemical contamination.

Halo Top have issued a recall of their Plant Based Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Ice Cream 473mL.

The ice cream is sold nationally at Coles and Woolworths as well as at IGA stores in NSW, South Australia and Queensland and independent retailers.

The popular ice cream has been recalled due to a potential chemical (solvent) contamination

The popular ice cream has been recalled due to a potential chemical (solvent) contamination

The ice cream has a best before of August 11, 2022 and has been recalled due to a potential chemical (solvent) contamination. 

‘Food products containing solvents may cause illness/injury if consumed,’ Food Standards Australia and New Zealand wrote in a recall notice online.

Customers should not consume the product and return it to its place of purchase to receive a full refund.  

Halo Top issued another recall in July after their chocolate flavour tubs were wrongly labelled ‘dairy-free’.

Halo Top Australia has a number of dairy-free flavours for vegan eaters, among its standard dairy range.
