‘Why are you not picking up your dog poo?’ Man creates a VERY sassy sign for ignorant pet owners and drills it into a fence along his local walkway

  • Man left sign in Warrnambool, Victoria, asking dog owners to pick up after pets
  • The sign posted the question to locals ‘Why are you not picking up your dog s**t’
  • There were then several excuses listed below including ‘I’m a jerk’, and ‘I’m lazy’

A fed-up man has hung up a sign urging ignorant dog owners to clean up after their pets.

The anonymous man took it upon himself to drill his homemade sign into a fence along a boardwalk in Warrnambool, in southern Victoria, posing the question why locals weren’t picking up their pet’s droppings.

He provided a series of excuses including ‘I’m a jerk’, ‘I’m lazy’, ‘Mummy still cleans up after me’ and another asking if residents just simply didn’t care about the environment.

‘Don’t be a tosser, pick up your dog s**t and rubbish,’ the sign read.

The poster was set up between the Pavilion Cafe & Bar and the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club – a popular walking track in the area.

Photos of the sign have circulated on Facebook with many residents calling for the ‘brilliant’ warning to be set up everywhere around Australia.

‘I need one of these for out front of my house,’ one said.

‘Anyone have dog but don’t pick their dog’s s**t shouldn’t have one. It’s so ridiculous!’ another said.

Others called upon their own councils to recreate the sign while one admitted the warning would fit in perfectly in the UK.

Residents are now concerned the sign may be taken down by the Warrnambool Council but the man responsible has insisted he will just replace it.

‘If it comes down, I will reprint a different version of it and put it up in a different area,’ the mysterious local told Seven News.

‘I just wanted to remind people about the correct thing to do with their dog waste. The number of times I have seen people leave their dog’s poo on the ground in that area is astounding.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Warrnambool Council for comment.
