West Bromwich Albion are preparing for a summer shake-up of their squad and considering potential managerial candidates should Sam Allardyce leave.

Allardyce, who signed an 18-month deal in December, will discuss his future with club chiefs in the coming days.

Chris Wilder is an option, and will be in demand following his departure from Sheffield United earlier this season. However, sources claim the 53-year-old does not top West Bromwich’s list.

This summer is likely to be a period of upheaval for the Baggies following their relegation to the Championship, which was confirmed on Sunday.

Matheus Pereira will consider his options — with Aston Villa said to be interested in the Brazilian.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will also be a target for Premier League sides, with Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester United among the interested parties.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles will return to Arsenal following his impressive loan spell, with Southampton and Leeds keen on signing the 23-year-old.

Manchester United and Everton have also shown an interest in him but they view Maitland-Niles as a right back. The England international can play in central midfield as well as at full back.
