A Sydneysider has mocked the city’s astronomical house prices by trying to convince herself a dilapidated inner-city bungalow was worth its $2million price tag.
Pediatric nurse Lucy Tisch on Monday shared a video to TikTok of her touring the run-down home in Rozelle in Sydney’s inner-west.
Set to the sound of the famous ‘King in the Castle’ quote from the movie Borat, Ms Tisch filmed herself next to the home’s litter-strewn back garden, tiny kitchen and mud-stained bathtub.

‘Me convincing myself this Sydney house is worth the $2million price tag,’ she captioned the video.
The clip stunned Australians who couldn’t believe the modest property could cost so much.
‘It looks like it’s about to fall apart,’ one person wrote.
‘My shed is better than that I paid nearly a quarter of that,’ another said.
‘In Cairns you can build a mansion for $1million and have a few acres,’ one commenter said.
The median house price in Rozelle is $1,685,000 – more than double the Sydney average of $712,000.

Ms Tisch said she herself hadn’t spent the seven-figure sum on the ramshackle property.
‘I’m a paeds nurse, I gotta ask to take a toilet break – I am far from making bank,’ she responded to someone who suggested she posted the video to boast about how much money she had.
The parody clip has been shared more than 27,000 times on the viral video platform.
