A woman has suffered ‘life-threatening injuries’ and is fighting for her life following a suspected stabbing in north-east England.

Two women, both aged 44, and a 41-year-old male have been arrested in connection with the incident, according to police.

Witnesses said a ‘huge crowd’ surrounded the cordon as armed police and paramedics rushed to the scene.
