WrestleMania 39: Shane McMahon’s surprise WWE return ends in DISASTER and Snoop Dogg takes his place

Snoop Dogg makes impromptu WrestleMania 39 appearance after Shane McMahon’s surprise WWE return ends with a horrific knee injury, forcing the rapper, 51, to take his place

After over a year in the wilderness, Shane McMahon returned to WWE for an impromptu match with The Miz at night two of WrestleMania, but it ended in disaster for the son of Vince McMahon.

After starting a match with The Miz, McMahon landed awkwardly and tore his quadriceps.

Triple H confirmed the 53-year-old suffered a serious injury and he was rolled out of the ring by medical personnel.

WWE was forced to improvise, and legendary rapper Snoop Dogg decided to get into the ring.

Snoop did a bit of everything at WrestleMania, serving as a match maker, an MC, and even took part in Rey Mysterio’s entrance before his impromptu battle with The Miz.

The LA icon landed two right hands that put the Hollywood A-lister down. Snoop then hit his own version of The Rock’s People’s Elbow to secure the one, two, three and his first ever official WWE victory.

McMahon hadn’t been seen in WWE since a disagreement over his appearance in the 2022 Royal Rumble.

On February 2 last year, McMahon was ‘quietly let go’ by the company following the Royal Rumble fiasco and his appearance at Elimination Chamber that month was cancelled.

Now, it looks like McMahon’s days wowing fans with his jumping theatrics in the ring are more than likely done.

Snoop does have previous in the wrestling industry and he’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer.

Normally used as a personality in WWE down the years, Snoop has occasionally got physical in the ring, just never in a real match.

A botched jump from the top rope in AEW lives long in the memory of wrestling fans.

But the legendary rap artist, who has sold 37 million albums worldwide, does have a real connection to wrestling: he’s cousins with WWE legend Sasha Banks – now named Mercedes Moné outside of the company.
