The picturesque bay is by a busy harbour and beach goers have reported enjoying watching the ships come and go as they soak up the sun.

‘Once you get over the idea that beauty for beaches is linked only to unspoilt nature, it’s actually a pretty spectacular spot for a swim,’ one woman said in an Instagram post.

‘On one side it’s green-tinged calm water lapping golden sand, while on the other side it’s planes, cranes, and container ships.’

Others gushed about the beach’s ‘impossibly azure’ waters after blogger Analise alerted her followers to the ‘hidden gem’ in an online video.

‘I go here once a week my favourite beach in the world,’ one Sydneysider wrote.

‘My absolute favourite place,’ another agreed and  third reminisced: ‘My dad used to take us there as kids’.

However many viewers wanted to keep the secluded spot a secret.

‘Please don’t tell anyone about our secret oasis,’ someone wrote and a second said: ‘Our place is no longer a secret’.
