A young boy living with a rare form of undiagnosed brittle bone disease has received a wonderful surprise from a kind-hearted stranger.

Riley, 8, who has already sustained more than 70 fractures as a direct result of the horrible disease, got to experience a dream trip to the hospital for an appointment.

His mother Janette Reid posted a heartwarming message on Facebook about her son’s wonderful surprise.

Due to the family having to regularly travel to Brisbane for Riley’s doctor’s appointments, his parents decided to try and get him there in style.

His father Matt tried calling a hire company to see if any could pick them up from the airport in Riley’s favorite car, a Tesla.

‘Unfortunately they didn’t have any Teslas in Queensland,’ Ms Reid said.

‘But the lady said wasn’t going to just stop there.’

Ms Reid said ‘the amazing lady went out of her way to track down a Tesla in Brisbane to pick the family up’.

The hire car manager eventually chased down ‘a lovely gentleman called Andrew who jumped at the chance’ to do it.

‘Today you couldn’t wipe the smile off Riley’s face, we got picked up this morning from the Brisbane Airport in this little beauty,’ Ms Reid wrote.

‘This car is mind blowing, we got to see it completely driving itself, camp fire mode (the seats literally heat up), fart mode and even got a goodbye dance from the car.’

Ms Reid thanked both the hire car manager and Andrew.

‘All of this happened because of Matt trying to hire us one (Tesla) but instead the kindness of the lady that went above and beyond and finding Andrew that [has] done all of this out of the kindness of his heart,’ she wrote.

‘And the only payment he would take was Riley’s smile. We are so thankful and these moments make all the hard time’s worth it.’

The heartwarming story was met with a flurry of kind messages.

One woman commented ‘omg what a wonderful thing they both did for Riley. I have the pleasure of knowing this little boy and his mum and little sister. They are a wonderful family and biggest heart. Riley has a big heart and is so kind to my son.’

‘That is the most beautiful story I have read in a long time. Hope Riley is well and all your family and the gentleman with the car and the lady that tracked in down are all blessed abundantly,’ another added.

While a third person said ‘what a gorgeous boy you have, so happy he got to experience this. Wish Tesla would hear your story and give you one for free.’
