Leicester City midfielder Daniel Amartey could find himself in hot water after he was filmed throwing Chelsea‘s FA Cup Final pennant on the ground as he celebrated his side’s historic win at Wembley.

The Foxes managed to overcome Thomas Tuchel‘s Blues in the Wembley showpiece – which welcomed back 21,000 spectators to the ground as one of the Government’s test pilot events –  after Youri Tielemans scored one of the best goals in Cup final history.

It is the club’s first ever FA Cup triumph and some of the Leicester players appeared to have got a little carried away with their celebrations.

After collecting their medals and the trophy on the pitch, the players and staff made their way to the changing rooms, where defender Wesley Fofana broadcasted the scenes to all of his followers on Instagram Live.

While recording, Amartey was seen picking up the Chelsea pennant, showing it to the camera before chucking it over his head and behind him onto the floor.

Fofana, who played the full 90 minutes against Chelsea, then flipped the camera and burst into laughter before cutting the video.

Club pennants are traditionally swapped before a game to mark the occasions while they are kept as souvenirs to remember the event.

Traded as a sign of respect between the two clubs, pennants would usually be framed or kept as memorabilia for the clubs involved.

Amartey’s actions could land him in trouble with Leicester, with the Ghanian midfielder being branded as ‘classless’ by Chelsea fans online.

One fan tweeted: ‘Disrespectful. honestly,’ while another added: ‘Unnecessarily disrespectful.’

Another added: ‘Disrespectful act. 0 fairplay. Still couldn’t believe a player which attitude represents the club did this.’

Amartey, who has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this season, was an unused substitute for the FA Cup Final.
