Kanye West made some less than flattering claims about Harriet Tubman, during his first presidential campaign rally in South Carolina.
But fellow musician Demi Lovato had nothing but admiration for the renown American abolitionist on Monday, after receiving a ‘gorgeous Harriet Tubman necklace’ from a friend.
‘So beautiful and represents so much courage and strength…I can’t wait to wear it!!!’ wrote the 27-year-old singer, who shared a picture of the necklace on Instagram.

The stunning necklace included a gold chain and a circle pendant that featured Tubman’s iconic image.
Lovato thanked her pal Νatalia Barulich for gifting her the pendant necklace and noted that it was made by the jewelry company Awe Inspired.
The card that came with the necklace stated that ‘100% of the proceeds’ would be donated to the NAACP.
News of Demi’s gift comes just one day after Kanye’s controversial rant about Tubman went viral.

During a campaign rally held in South Carolina on Saturday evening, West claimed that Harriet Tubman ‘never actually freed the slaves.’
‘She just had them work for other white people,’ continued West, who announced his intentions to run for President just two weeks ago.
Aside from slamming Tubman, Kanye broke down in tears, while discussing abortion.
He, eventually, revealed that he and his wife Kim Kardashian contemplated abortion, while Kim was pregnant with their first child, daughter North, seven.

Unlike Kanye, Demi has been having a tranquil quarantine with her actor beau Max Ehrich.

Lovato celebrated Ehrich’s birthday last month and uploaded a sweet tribute to her Instagram.
