In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, the 55-year-old New Zealand-born beauty shared a throwback photo from her younger days.   

‘Ok here’s your laugh for the week… Tbt to when my modelling agency in the early 80’s convinced me to enter The Miss Kapiti Coast competition,’ she captioned it.

It’s Rebecca Gibney, the acclaimed actress best known for her role as Julie Rafter in the hit series, Packed to the Rafters.

Rebecca started her career as a model, and during an interview with The Daily Telegraph in December 2014, she revealed she was often plagued by self-doubt in her younger days.

But she said she’s enjoying the process of getting older, admitting she feels more confident in herself.

‘Apart from a few extra lines and a few extra kilos I still feel the same as I did 20 years ago, just a little wiser and a lot more comfortable with myself,’ she told The Daily Telegraph at the time.

She added: ‘Obviously I still like to take care of myself but I have no desire to stop the clock. We are all ageing and acceptance brings peace.’

Rebecca reiterated her thoughts on the ageing process during an interview with Who magazine in October 2018.

‘I love getting older. I’m more confident in my 50’s than I have ever been,’ she said at the time.

‘I’m more inclined to not really care what other people think. I know I’m a good person.’
