The Duchess of Cambridge has been dubbed the ‘children’s princess’ after delighting families on a string of recent engagements.
Kate, 38, has visited a nursery, science museum and community centre in the last week as she promotes her landmark survey on early childhood development.
On each occasion the beaming royal has delighted children and their parents with her natural warmth, prompting royal supporters to praise her ‘amazing’ ability to connect with families and dub her the ‘children’s princess’.
The nickname has echoes of Princess Diana, who was affectionately known as the ‘people’s princess’.

Many also noted it is a reflection on what a hands-on mother she is to her own children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and 21-month-old Prince Louis.
Writing in the comments section of the Kensington Palace account, one royal supporter posted: ‘I love seeing her with children. She relates well with people of all ages but with children she has a different type of glow. She clearly loves them.’
Another added: ‘It’s always exciting to see HRH with kids…she glows different and seems to really enjoy being with them, and working with them…says so much about what kind of a mum she is to her little kids.’
Commenting on the quickly growing nickname, one user added: ‘Absolutely love that this [the children’s princess] is what she is being referred to as. Diana was The People’s Princess, and now Kate is The Children’s Princess.’

The Duchess, who is mother to three children under six, showed she was up for a good time as she played with the little ones and their parents while launching her nationwide ‘5 Big Questions’ survey.
Just hours later Kate was in Cardiff at the Ely and Careau Childrens Centre, which brought with it more sweet encounters with little ones.
The start of this week brought with it a visit to Eveline London Children’s Hospital – where Kate was snapped making cut-out paper figures and posed for photos – followed by yesterday’s outing to the Stockwell Gardens Nursery & Pre-School.

The Duchess is busy promoting her online survey, conducted by Ipsos Mori on behalf of the Royal Foundation. It is thought to be the biggest of its kind.
Participants are asked for their opinion on what influences development and what period of childhood is most important for children’s happiness. The survey is open until 21 February.
The intention is to ‘spark a national conversation’ to help create ‘lasting change for generations to come’, Kensington Palace has said.
Kate has said she believes ‘many of society’s greatest social and health challenges’ could be ‘mitigated or entirely avoided’ if young children are given ‘the right support’.
