Katie Holmes mixes business with pleasure in a long black jacket and jeans in New York

She’s showcased her impeccable eye for style through the years.

And Katie Holmes looked ever-so chic as can be as she stepped out for meetings in New York City on Wednesday morning. 

The 41-year-old actress kept warm wearing a heavy black coat while strutting down the street in jeans as she tended to another busy day in The Big Apple.

Katie’s classic ensemble included a double-breasted peacoat which draped down past her knees and featured thick lapels.

She kept things simple on top wearing a black sweater with a floral collar peering out from underneath.

The Dawson’s Creek star rocked a trendy pair of lightwash, wide-leg denim slacks as she pounded the pavement in the Tribeca area of the city. 

She carried a slouchy black leather bag across her arm to match a pair of pointy booties on her feet.

Katie slicked back her chocolate brown hair into a loose ponytail and appeared to be makeup-free while hiding behind a pair of over-sized lenses.

Holmes recently took Paris Fashion Week by storm after enjoying the front row experience for New York’s semi-annual display. 

The Batman Begins star has a host of movies ready to roll out in the new year, and credits the ones closest to her for her positive mindset.

‘I laugh a lot with my girlfriends,’ she shared in an interview with Flaunt magazine. ‘I try to have an awareness when things aren’t going well, to see the humor in it. This is because I tend to set my expectations high and then it’s never really what I thought, and that’s funny. Don’t we all do that?’

She was recently given the greenlight to start working on a coming-of-age story called Rare Objects, an opportunity she’s taking with pride.

As a woman, we have to keep telling our stories, and keep showing what we all go through, and have that voice out there so that we all feel connected as women,’ she said. ‘It’s good to keep telling coming-of-age stories because it’s always different in a new time period.’
