Sydney Test match moved to Melbourne due to Northern Beaches COVID-19 outbreak after failed efforts to save landmark cricket fixture

The Sydney Test between Australia and India has reportedly been moved to Melbourne due to the growing COVID-19 outbreak in New South Wales.

Cricket Australia officials are believed to have been considering moving the Test match to Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide since the Northern Beaches cluster first emerged in Sydney in mid-December.

The third Test had been expected to start in Sydney on January 7.
