Abra-CAT-dabra! Moment kitten appears to magically change colour after two tiny cats squeeze in and out of a vase

  • Footage shows Aspen the kitten leaping into a small vase and disappearing
  • But a black kitten then re-emerges – appearing to be some kind of magic trick
  • Video was recorded by animal foster carer Kitten Mom in Fort Wayne, Indiana

A kitten appeared to change colour in an accidental magic trick when two tiny cats squeezed inside a ceramic vase.

Feline friends Birch and Aspen were filmed performing the unintentional stunt as they played around in their room full of hiding spots.

The footage was recorded at an animal foster carer’s home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In the video Aspen, the brown kitten, is seen leaping into a small ceramic pot left on the side for the cats to play with.

But as the pot is quite a bit bigger than him, the young kitten disappears all the way inside.

And, in a funny surprise, the kitten which immediately emerges has black fur, as though Aspen has been magically transformed.

This, however, is Birch, another kitten fostered by Barb, a self-professed ‘Kitten Mom’.

Having started fostering kittens and some cats almost five years ago, Barb says she has now ‘rescued’ 283 lives, looking after the young cats until she can find them forever homes.

The video was posted on Instagram, where Barb gives an insight into the kittens’ activities, and has been viewed more than 25,600 times.

‘These kittens were playing around a pot when Aspen, the brown kitten, leaped in it,’ she said.
