Anton Danyluk shares throwback snap of himself as an ‘overweight, insecure, depressed’ child

Anton Danyluk took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a snap of himself as a child compared to what he looks like now.

The Love Island 2019 star, 24, used an up-to-date photo next to the one of him as an ‘overweight’ child, who he claims was ‘borderline depressed’.

The two snaps were worlds apart, with the current image showcasing the ripped, hunky torso fans have come to know him for.

Then and now: Anton Danyluk took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a snap of himself as a child compared to what he looks like now

He captioned the image, ‘I wonder what the bullies would say now?’ referring to his past as a victim of verbal abuse from cruel children he went to school with.

‘Most of you now know me as Anton from Love Island but what you won’t know about me is as a kid I was overweight, insecure and on the border line of depression,’ he continued in the caption.

‘I had two choices the first to give up, the second to change. I chose the latter, and have never looked back. Fitness has changed my life completely and since then I ave been on a mission to help others do the same.

‘If you had told me as that kid on the left, I would be on the biggest tv show in the UK having the confidence to show off my body to over 5M people on a daily basis I would have never believed you, I wouldn’t even take my top off on family holidays.

‘But I worked on improving myself everyday and I’ve achieved things in my life I never could have dreamed of. You can do anything in life if you put your mind to it.

‘Focus on taking small steps to improving yourself everyday and changes will happy. Remember 1% each day is 365% at the end of the year. Now Iam on a journey to make my @antondfitness community massive.’

Anton’s inspirational post comes after he ruled out reuniting with his ex-girlfriend Belle Hassan, saying it would be like dating his ‘sister’ and admitted his love life is ‘dead’.

He and the make-up artist, 24, hit it off during their time in the Love Island villa last summer but called it quits just five weeks after the show ended.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline a month ago, Anton ruled out any romantic reunion between the pair in the future: ‘No, definitely not, it’s just not that type of relationship.’

He added: ‘We’re so friendly now, it would be like dating your sister, effectively. It’s not that kind of relationship anymore.’

The pair have kept in constant contact since the villa however and she is among Anton’s closest friends from the show.

He said: ‘Me and Belle have stayed good friends. We were in a stage there where we were talking every single day.

‘We went through a mad experience in there which I will never experience with anyone else in my life. I have a lot of love and a lot of respect for her and that will never change.’

Anton has launched his own fitness app and admitted that his love life has now taken a back seat to his business.

He said: ‘My love life is dead to be honest. I’m very busy with my work at the moment with the app, my focus is just doing this.

‘There’s been a few girls I’ve been speaking to and then it’ll go three days and I won’t have messaged them because I’m that focused on the app.

‘I’m not looking. If it comes to me, it comes to me, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. We will see what the year brings.’

Anton has been watching the new series of Love Island and imparted words of wisdom to new arrivals Connagh Howard and Finley Tapp.

He said: ‘One thing I found worked well in the villa for me was being friends with everyone. I didn’t have much of a choice, girls kept pieing me so I didn’t have much of a choice.

‘Don’t go in with a game plan. As cliché as it sounds, just be yourself as much as possible.’

The reality star added that if he had been in this year’s series, he probably would have wanted to couple up with Paige Turley.

He said: ‘I would say Paige, just for the Scottish element of it. I was the only Scottish person in it last year.’

The gym owner also spoke about online trolls, saying the show’s fans need to be more ‘considerate’ towards the islanders.

He said: ‘I was very lucky. I didn’t get much when I came out. I saw a lot of nasty stuff that was going on during the first week I was in.

‘I’m just blessed I never got it towards the end. I think people watching the show should be a little bit more considerate towards the islanders that are in there.’

Anton’s new fitness app, ‘Anton Fitness’ offers bespoke meals and workouts to users who sign-up.

The TV star worked with a nutritionist for the app and users can communicate directly with Anton and his team while on their fitness journey.

He said: ‘Since I’ve come out of the villa, that’s what I’ve been working on. I’ve been put my 10 years of experience into it. I had a gym but the demand was too high, people were signing up just to meet me.

‘They download the programme and they update their metrics and I work out their macronutrients, how much they should be eating and they’ll be putting in progression photos and if they need any changes, I’ll make the changes.’
