Chris Hughes reveals he’s been rushed to A&E with suspected kidney stones ahead of his hosting stint at Cheltenham Festival

Chris Hughes has revealed he’s been rushed to A&E with suspected kidney stones ahead of his upcoming hosting stint with ITV at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Sunday evening, the Love Island star, 27, shared a snap of his feet as he sat in the hospital’s waiting room with a pal.

A representative for Chris told MailOnline: ‘Chris has been in some pain with suspected kidney stones – it has alleviated overnight after his trip to the hospital and some medicine.’

Kidney stones are made from hard crystals that accumulate in the kidneys when there is too much solid waste in the urine and not enough liquid to wash it out.

While surgery is recommended for larger stones, those cases are rare, and most sufferers are prescribed painkillers.

Symptoms can include severe pain in the back, abdomen, groin and genitals that gets worse in waves, burning while urinating, blood in urine, and nausea or vomiting.

The media personality’s spokesperson reassured fans that he’s still expected to attend the annual sporting event as they added: ‘He’s keeping an eye on it but is all set to present with ITV racing this week.’

Chris suffered from some health issues in October last year, when he revealed he had lost weight after losing his appetite earlier in the year.

At the time, the fitness enthusiast admitted he thinks the change was down to ‘stress’.

A month earlier, Chris, who is currently in a relationship with Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson, confessed he’s worried about his fertility and had his sperm frozen after having three operations on his left testicle.

The social media influencer revealed he has a low sperm count following an operation on the varicocele on his testicles nine years ago and has now been looking into his options.

Speaking to The Mirror, Chris shared: ‘I might be infertile. I learnt things about male fertility that really surprised me.

‘Fertility is often a subject that guys don’t consider until it might be too late, so I’m hoping this documentary will raise awareness and help men who might be struggling with these issues.’
